Use rock, mulch, flower beds and gardens as ground cover for bare spaces and as effective firebreaks.
Cut or mow annual grasses down to a maximum height of 4 inches.
Remove fallen leaves, needles, twigs, bark, cones and small branches.
Remove all dead or dry plants, grass and weeds from your yard, roof and rain gutters.
Remove vegetation and items that could catch fire from around and under decks.
Remove dead branches within 10 feet of your chimney and any branches hanging over your roof.
